The Dance of Mazuranic Square
In May 1995, a shower of cluster bombs in Zagreb had me running for my life. Rebel Serbs blasted the Croatian capital in a two-day attack with casualties. At the centre of this city lies elegant Mazuranic Square, where the National Theatre and the Academy of Dramatic Art stand and was hit while Ukrainian ballet dancers rehearsed for a performance. Despite the times, I was able to enjoy great classical harp music at the Hotel Intercontinental in Zagreb.
