The Monolithic Stones

While visiting Baalbek, Lebanon, I found the largest stones ever quarried on the planet. Two are still in the quarry, one attached to the bedrock and the other alone on the quarry floor next to the bedrock from which it was cut. I was impressed with its size (at least 1,200 tons). Known as “The Stone of the Pregnant Woman,” it is still attached to the bedrock.
